Best London Activities

London Activities

I came across a strange collection of London activities while I was on a trip to London recently. I had gone there on business, and there was a big meeting planned in the evening, and I was schedule to return back to the states the following morning. As my plan didn’t allow any time for sightseeing, I hadn’t planned any London activities.

I’ve been to London a couple of times before, and I had enjoyed many London activities. I’m the kind of traveler who kinds of wings it as he goes, so I never really plan much in advance. Nevertheless, I was able to find plenty of London activities that really showed me a good time.

You never know what kind of London activity is going to crop up, so it’s generally a good idea to have a couple of London activities in the back of your mind, in case something happens.

Of course, I was traveling on business, so I really didn’t plan any London activities. I just figured I’d go straight from Heathrow to my hotel (where all the meetings where) and then fly out when I was done.

However, my last meeting was canceled, so there I was in London, and had the whole afternoon to myself. I had to find some London activities that would keep me occupied.

Since I hadn’t planned on doing any sightseeing, I had left all my travel guides at home. After all, I hadn’t planned on any London activities, as I was just going from airport to hotel and back to airport again. I had to come up with some London activities rather fast, so I would be able to spend some enjoyable time there.

So I went to the front desk and explained my situation. I said I only had a few hours, and wanted to see some interesting things. They gave me a map, on the back of which had a list. It was the ten most popular tourist spots in London, and next to each spot was the nearest station, and how to get there from the particular station.

So I disappeared into the Tube, in search of three or four free activities in London that I would be able to find. I first went to Westminster Abbey, since I kind of like that sort of thing. You don’t have to pay for any tours (if you don’t want to) so you can kind of check things out yourself if you like.

Next I went to King’s Cross, since I enjoy people watching. This is probably my favorite activity in London. All the hustle and bustle, and all the people running around.

One of my favorite things to do is find a nice pub inside the station and grab a seat by the window and enjoy few pints while the people walk by. That’s my favorite London activity.

Of course, I only had time for a couple, so I had to head back to my hotel. I did enjoy some unexpected London activities that I shall remember for a while.

If you go to London, there are plenty of London activities that you can enjoy as well.
